Vanessa Avey MA.
I have 20 years experience of working with children, helping those with emotional difficulties find their way to a more settled and self controlling way of life. I spent five years working in a special school for children with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties before moving on to become an independent practitioner and director of Walsall Play Therapy (August 2013).
I am a fully accredited play therapist having also completed my Masters degree based on the use of drama-based therapy for sufferers of ADHD and Filial Play Coach, a full member of Play Therapy UK www.playtherapy.org.uk I am a fully qualified clinical supervisor of play and creative arts.
I work to the PTUK Ethical Standards and clinical governance this includes being a member of the Register of Play and Creative Arts therapists www.playtherapyregister.org.uk
I hold a clean and current CRB check and I am fully insured. My committment to continuous professional development ensures my skills and knowledge are kept current.
All my clinical work is fully supervised by a qualified and experienced Clinical Supervisor on a regular and on-going basis.
We provide therapy sessions at locations to suit you, your childs school or local childrens centres. Clinical supervision is available to suit your needs.
